Druk Path Trek
Day 1: Arrive Paro
On a clear day, the flight to Paro is breathtaking, with views of major Himalayan peaks such as Everest, Kanchenjunga and Makalu, and on the final approach Bhutan's own snowy peaks, the sacred Chomolhari, Jichu Drake and Tserimgang.
A representative of Sukhata Tours and the Tour Guide will receive and take to the sightseeing in paro such as Paro Rinpung Dzong, national museum and Drukgyel Dzong, after lunch you will visit Kyichu Lhakhang (temple) and Dumtse Lhakhang, a temple built by Thangthong Gyalpo, the iron bridge builder. Day 2: Hike to Paro Taktshsng
After breakfast we will hike to Taktsang, the Tiger's Nest. This magical monastery clings to vertical granite cliff 3000 ft. above paro valley. Legend says that Guru Rinpoche(spiritual master) flew here on the back of a tigress to meditate in the cave. Lunch will be served in the Taktshang cafeteria restaurant. Overnight in paro
Day 3: Paro - Jele Dzong
Today is a short trekking day. The jourmey starts with a climb up to Jele Dzong. The trek trail is rather gradual till the camp and if the weather is clear, the Paro valley can be seen with the snowcapped mountains behind the valley. Above the camp is Jele La (3400m) and Jele Dzong. Overnight in Campsite, Altitude 3480m
Day 4: Jele Dzong - Jangchulakha
The route climbs through thick alpine forests and rhododendrons to a saddle at 3590m. We will have fine views of Mount. Chomolhari and the surrounding mountains can be seen if the weather is clear. We may hear some pheasants calling during the day. Overnight in Campsite, Altitude 3780m
Day 5: Jangchulakha - Jimilang Tsho
The trail climbs steeply to the Jangchu la pass (4180m). On a clear day the views of the mountains and valleys are sensational. We will enjoy a great view of Jichu Drake (6989m), the peak representing the protective deity of paro valley. Camp is near Jimilang Tsho, Altitude 3870m
Day 6: Jimilang Tsho - Simtokha
The trail traverse through dwarf rhododendron tress and passes by the lake of Janetsho. Today you may come across some yak herder's camps and get an idea of how these people live. Camp is near Simtokha Lake
Day 7: Simtokha Tsho - Phajoding
The day begins with a gradual climb and if weather permits, there are enchanting views of Mount. Gangkhar Phuensum (7541m), the highest peak in Bhutan. The trail then descends past Thujidrag Goempa, a meditation centre hanging on the side of a precipitous rock face and journey will continuing further through juniper trees to the campsite near Phajodin Goempa, Altitude 3610m
Day 8: Phajoding - Thimphu
The trek to Thimphu is all downhill through forested area of mostly blue pine. Taking a leisurely pace you reach Thimphu in about 3 Hours. Overnight in Thimphu
Day 9: Paro - International Airport
Morning: Breakfast timing may depend on the return Flight time. All hotels serve early morning Breakfast by 6.00 am.
Airport Drop: The guests will be Seen Off by a Representative of Sukhata Tours and the Tour Guide at the Exit Gate. Wish Bon Voyage!!!
